John Deutsch describes the best method of getting your gtalk status to update your twitter. There are several other methods out there, but this one has fewer moving parts, and after just a but of tweaking, I got it to work nicely. I set the cron job to run only twice a day. We'll see what how it goes. My brother says it's silly.
