This week in The Lancet: (free registration) "Few areas in medicine have benefited from the explosion in growth of molecular medicine as has haematology. One unfortunate consequence of this expansion of molecular medicine has been to take haematology further from the understanding of most general medical practitioners. This week we begin a seven-paper series on haematology in which we attempt to redress this balance."
This first article in the series is a very well written review of red cell disorders, and I expect that the remainder fo the series will be equally strong.
